Home / Thrust Roller Bearings
Thrust ball bearings are most favored in industries where low friction operation, high rotational speeds, and low load carrying capacity are required. Thrust Ball Bearings can accommodate loads that act along the axis of the shaft.
Types of Thrust Ball bearings
A. Single Direction Thrust Ball Bearings : These consist of a shaft washer, a housing washer, and a ball & cage assembly, These can accommodate axial loads and locate shafts axially and in one direction only.
B. Double direction thrust Ball Bearings: These consist of one shaft washer, two housing washers, and two balls & cage assemblies, The housing washers and ball & cage assemblies of double direction bearings are identical to those used in single direction bearings. It can accommodate axial loads and locate a shaft axially, in both directions. Steel and brass cages can be used at the same operating temperatures as the bearing washers and balls.
Thrust Ball Bearings are used where there is a requirement of low load-carrying capacity with high rotational speeds. Thrust bearings are also available in cylindrical rollers and needle rollers. Depending upon space and load requirements, these are used across various industries.
