Home / Angular Contact Ball Bearings
Angular Contact Ball Bearings Angular contact ball bearings have inner and outer ring raceways that are displaced parallel to each other in the direction of the bearing axis. This means that these bearings are designed to accommodate combined loads, i.e. simultaneously act as radial and axial loads. The axial load carrying capacity of angular contact ball bearings increases when the contact angle is increased.
Types of angular Contact Bearings
Single-row Angular contact ball bearings
Single-row angular contact ball bearings can accommodate axial loads in one direction only. This type of bearing is typically adjusted against a second bearing.
Double Row Angular contact bearings
Double row angular contact ball bearings correspond to two single row angular contact ball bearings arranged back-to-back. This type of bearings provides stiff bearing arrangements.
Four Point Contact Ball Bearings
Four-point contact ball bearings are the radial single row angular contact ball bearings with the raceways that are designed to support axial loads in both directions. For a given axial load, a limited radial load can also be supported. The bearings are separable, i.e. the outer ring with ball and cage assembly can be mounted separately from the two inner ring halves These bearings take up considerably less axial space than double row bearings. Angular Contact Ball Bearings are easy to manage and can carry heavy loads both on axial and Radial loads at very high speeds. These bearings are used in material handling (for example - conveyor belt) gearboxes, pumps, electrical motors and clutches, machine tools, and steel mills.
